"The Peshmerga were trying to hold the line, but Navy SEALS – at least 20 – came in and pounded the s--- out of ISIS," military trainer Matthew VanDyke told Fox News, saying that "scores" of Islamic State militants died. VanDyke and three U.S. veterans were training Assyrian Christian forces battling ISIS in the region.

This is EXACTLY the mission that SF is designed for and this death, unfortunate as it is, is the cost of doing business. That being said, this really isn't a SEAL or Delta or Force Recon mission. This is a SF mission. SF actually refers to U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets) and they are the ones trained to act as advisors.

That.

And my brother is an ex SEAL. This is not the mission they are supposed to be doing.

Pretty terrible situation we have over there. My brother just went there last week for his 4th tour. He is with the 101st in the vicinity of where this happened.

According to him, I wouldn't trust the media reports about any of the stuff that is going on there. Luckily he seems to be in a pretty safe location.

Let's keep all our armed forces men and women in our thoughts and prayers. They are doing a job over there, whether we agree with them being there or not.

They're called Da'esh, not ISIS

They're all the same, taliban, al Qaeda, ISIS, mujahideen, Da'esh. It doesn't matter. They are our enemies and need to be killed.

We need to figure out who in the frick we're fighting first. Are we fighting ISIS or are we trying to topple Assad's regime?

Shouldn't that have happened before sending troops back in? Are you saying there was no clear mission before committing troops on the ground?

I'm not saying that's the case, but weren't we pretty much backing ISIS to get Assad then we switched sides to fight ISIS?

I have no idea anymore. We have drawn so many red lines that have been crossed I don't know any more.

The whole point of my original post is get our military out of there. I know we won't go obliterate anyone.
