Did the protesters have a permit to block traffic? Also the shooting was by one of the groups own “protectors” shooting both someone they had concerns about and one of their own.
I believe illegally obstructing in protest one’s right to travel legally on a street is making a choice to sacrifice your body for the cause. After the fact they shouldn’t be allowed to hide behide the laws and the constitution they were just ignoring and pushing others to also ignore.
