After just one week, the nation’s average price of gasoline has swung back to an incline, rising 0.9 cents compared to a week ago and stands at $3.10 per gallon, according to GasBuddy® data compiled from more than 12 million individual price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country. The national average is down 6.5 cents from a month ago and is 37.5 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has increased 1.6 cents in the last week and stands at $3.709 per gallon.

“It’s been another relatively quiet week for average gas prices, with most states seeing modest or slight declines, while a handful of price cycling states experienced the most noticeable fluctuations,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “Oil prices continue to hover in the mid-to-upper $60s, and with gasoline demand starting to ease as we head into August, we could see prices gradually decline as we approach Labor Day. That said, this is also the time of year when the tropics begin to stir, so we’ll be keeping a close eye on hurricane activity that could disrupt supply and shift the outlook.”

After the European Union and the U.S. reached a trade agreement over the weekend, energy markets turned optimistic about demand growth, pushing oil prices higher. In early Monday trade, a barrel of WTI crude oil was up $1.30 to $66.46, up from last week’s $67.31 per barrel start, while Brent crude oil tacked on $1.33 per barrel to $69.77, up from last Monday’s $69.05 per barrel fetch. Easing trade tensions are likely to result in rising economic activity and consumption, also pushing up energy and oil demand globally.

1- On the first page here is also a thread about 401ks I posted and a thread about the Oyster lobby’s response the killing of the Barataria sediment diversion project.

2- You have something like 72k posts since 2012. I have around 26.5k since ‘07. Take a chill pill, Jill. All will be ok.

I’m sure there will be thousands of people who have an absolute meltdown over this while they’re drinking their $10 cup of coffee from Starbucks
