We didn't get off Atlantis resort much, but make sure to try and go here, I brought a bottle of Rum back and it is great!
John Watling Rum
If yall are staying at Atlantis, and need someplace to eat Bobby Flay's Mesa was pretty good.

Check out The Poop Deck. On the water, close to the resort, and we had a very good meal, at a good value, there. Local food.

Stay on the resort. It's nice. The town isn't that great. Hook up with a guide for a day of bone fishing on the flats. It's worth it.

Prayers sent.
The whole place is an armpit. The Graycliff is about the only thing worth seeing or doing in Nassau. I went to Nassau (on a business trip) earlier this year after not visiting there for twenty years. It is not worthy of recommendation for anyone over 22 years of age.
Atlantis is way overpriced and I didn't care for the taste and general clientele of the resort. For the same money or less a much better time can be had in many other resort locations. The Casino at Atlantis is the real economic driver for the property.
I'm sorry there isn't better news. It is close to the mainland US, that's a good thing about it. The locals are nice away from town, but it's difficult to find a good reason to interact with them.

Head over the bridge and ride public transit down to Compass point. Cool little bar over the water. I think they have also completed the mega yacht marina beyond that. May be worth it for a drink.
Go to Graycliff at night for a cigar and brown water.
Otherwise, Nassau blows.

Fish Fry for dinner.
Stuart Cove's Dive Bahamas. Best dive shop in the world. Swim with the sharks there.

Aura Night club was awesome and I'm not a club guy.
hit the fish fry for lots of choices for dinner
Potter Cay dock is a good lunch spot
ETA: I got married at the One and Only last year. The resort is top notch, but the rest of the island leaves desires--if you are a pussy. Get out and see the culture and the island.

Nassau really does suck outside of Atlantis.
Bonefishing is great and all but the barracuda there know what's up and will cut your catch in half as soon as you are hooked up. That's been my experience anyway. Those nasty bastards learn quick.

Atlantis is probably the worst thing about Nassau.
