That's why you always carry a bottle of something in your trunk. If she had been sitting on the curb drinking some bourbon, then she's off the hook!

I remember this one.

Getting pulled over drunk? Just throw your keys out the window and chug a bottle of liquor in front of the cop!

I would, yes.

Driving drunk is fricking dumb. There are heroic dumbasses.

Belle Meade cops are pricks. This is no surprise.

Yes they are. Unless you have proof of Belle Meade residence.

They act like the Gestapo with outsiders. I go 5 below the speed limit when I am driving around in there.

Her drinking and driving could have easily led to her swerving all over the road, forcing the other driver off the road and into the pole

Honestly, if they didn't see her driving or in her car with it running, a decent lawyer could probably get her a plea to a lesser charge

Every time you drink and drive, just do something nice, we'll forget all about it, no biggie!

Co-worker was a good Samaritan. He got out of his car, took off his shirt to stop the bleeding of the accident victim, and sat his beer down beside them. I've always wondered if the law thought the person had been drinking.

nice of her to stop and help but she was drinking and driving, she could have easily caused an accident. stopping to help doesnt change that.

I have a specific example of someone getting a lesser charge in this scenario. Its not speculation on my part

I once stopped on Antioch road to help a motorcyclist who was run off the road into the ditch. I brought him to the convenience store called police and then left the scene because I had a couple beers and didn't want to take that chance.
