Quickest way to kill your economy is by forcing businesses and residents out of your county.

Fox 37

Nashville’s 34% property tax hike will not only impact property owners, economic experts tell FOX 17 renters will also see a significant increase on their next lease.

The Beacon Center of Tennessee says monthly rents could go up as much as 40% in Nashville to compensate for the extra cost.

Was this to cover a shortfall from the government-imposed shut down?

And on top of that, businesses on Broadway who are trying to open amidst COVID regulations sometimes still can't open at all because of protests and rioting. Davidson County gonna Davidson County.

Can this cost increase be counted towards "reparations" like all the other entitlement programs for last 50 years?

I've only been up here for a year but I imagine a cardboard cutout of a random dude would be more effective than John Cooper

Come out to Sumner County. As long as you don't plan on putting any family members in a nursing home, life is pretty good out here

No way that midget he gets elected again. He's ostracized both sides at this point.

This can't be. I recall many guys on here telling me "renters don't have property tax included in rent".

And, of course, this will drive people out of the city and lower the value of property in the city.

You can only charge what the market will bear for rent. There have been times property values have gone up, and thus my taxes on rental property, but rents in the area were falling.

The tax rate in Nashville is still low, I pay close to $6/$100 in Dallas.

Keep believing all the promises from these lying politicians about how they will give you everything but only tax the "evil rich people."

When will people realize that there is no free lunch and these retard politicians are nothing but snake oil salesmen?

For a state with no income taxes, I was shocked at how low Nashville's property taxes are/were.

And this would please the active anti-gentrification portion of a certain voting demographic.
