One of the working ideas is to put the humans in some type hibernation on their long voyage to Mars. Does that sound like NASA is on a trajectory to Mars with 15 years?

Tell me that BS after we have another operating manned space craft since the shuttle retirement. We have big rockets, but have to catch rides just to the space station.

The moon has no atmosphere and no water whatsoever. If we can get to Mars it'll be way easier for us to make it habitable

Got to get back to the Moon first. 14 years. Don't see it. Right now it's a one-way 6 month trip to Mars. Along with radiation exposure, getting back is the problem. Add to that, getting a nuclear reactor into space, without all of the anti-nuke whack jobs, screaming gloom and doom about a nuclear accident in the atmosphere.

Unfortunately when the next administration gets in nasa always has their projects changed and focus redirected. I highly doubt we get to Mars, especially in ten years. There’s not a looming enemy that we’re in a space race with to push us there. And that money could be spent on way more realistic and productive space exploration. Going to Mars is cool but pointless. I’d love to see it though,

They have to have some sort of non-rocket propulsion technology they’re confident in to cut down on flight duration. The atrophy caused by a low-G environment is a concern. I don’t think they’ll subject them to 12 months travel time plus any type of extended exploitory mission on surface.
Also, as you said, there is the radiation issues.

Regardless the moon only makes more sense economically wise. Mars has way more in common with the Earth and once we can get the technology to send people safely it becomes a far more feasible option

Aint no way in hell we are landing humans on mars in 2033. Lol. We haven't even developed fighter planes that can fight in orbit, and that should've been done by 1999.

If you really want to settle somewhere comparable, an upper atmosphere “cloud city” on Venus would be the most Earth like in terms of gravity. Mars is pointless for anything other than science. We aren’t living there.

I was privy to some really far out shite that I can't talk about, and I've heard guy's talk about the plane with the donut hole contrail. Don't think for a second that the Air Force would've retired the SR-71 without a replacement.

I’m privy to nothing but I pay attention close attention to air and space technology and science. Based off of the stuff they are allowed to share, I like to attempt educated guesses as to what they have that’s classified and what will be feasible soonish.

Mars' surface temps are far more sustainable then any part of Venus not to mention theyr have a 24 hour rotation unlike Venus and the moon. Mars may have less gravity and atmosphere but it's still more hospitable then Venus or the moon
