Well, they are natural. I'm not making an appeal to nature - that's a bad argument technique - it's just silly to say that homosexuality is 'unnatural'.
This, the appeal to nature is silly in the first place. However, if someone wants to go there, I have no problem calling them out on it.

The degredation of society isn't a non-religious reason?
Ah the "moral high ground reason". Usually tossed around by people like David Vitter, Newt Gingrich and Ted haggard. Not like boning prostitutes, destroying families, multiple divorces and children out of wedlock "degrades" society. Only when 2 dudes decide to be together.

There's certainly no simple answer to that question, at least not one that will make sense to people who are part of a culture in which marriage, chastity, etc are so lightly regarded.
I guess my point is that I'm an atheist who is married to an atheist and our wedding was performed by an atheist.
If I can get married like that then why can't two people of the same sex?

They certainly can and that shouldn't even be questioned. That doesn't make their relationship the same as yours.

Why not?

I can't wait until all the people in this world see that man and woman were created to marry and reproduce. People are not born gay nor is it natural.
Guess people will just see when it's time.

AIDS
The very thought that this disease gets protected status when its far more devastating than measles, mumps, rubella, even the flu or staph. All of which can get you sent home or even quarantined
. . . but the ghey gets to spread disease like nobodys bidness, and its OK, cuz its gay!

When will the religious realize that people are leaving the church in great numbers because of their inability to be rational about change in society and tradition? It has happened over and over through history; once we start to learn more about the human condition, we change certain biblical customs or laws that are outdated or discriminatory towards individuals. If any of you really don't see that gay marriage will eventually be allowed in every state in the U.S., you are pretty idiotic. The actual verses on homosexuality are believed to be poorly translated by many historians. Many verses are already ignored by most christians, and the actual content of the bible has changed a lot over thousands of years and many translations. The mental gymnastics some fundamentalists use is simply astounding. I don't think they can actually rationally think about what they claim to believe or why that is so.

You have a great point. Unfortunately it has NOTHING to do with homosexuality. Men and women have children together. Men can't with other men and same goes for women. Life needs to be recreated over and over again. You can tell what parts of the Bible are translated loosely and which parts are specific.
"Don't kill": pretty easy to understand
"Don't build a fire on Sundays:"
was because that used to take a LOT of work and Sunday is a day of rest. I think it's ok now to make a fire on Sundays.

As the earth's population continues to grow and grow and grow
Seems like a positive effect, not a negative one
Man's instinct doesn't appear to want to be with 1 person either. I'm married, but I'm still not sure how "natural" marriage is. It goes against man's instincts.
Marriage seems to be the opposite of the reproduction part too. If we were created to reproduce, then it appears that the traditional marriage view of Abraham is more applicable.
Who knew that the LSU football team's fertility was actually a positive? I'll start worrying about the reproduction aspect of homosexuality once the number of humans becomes an issue

1. "Name one non-religious reason"
2. "People are not born gay nor is it natural", is patently false. Over 1000 animal species exhibit homosexual behavior and I promise you they aren't doing it to piss you off.

Then they shouldn't run a bakery in Colorado where the state constitution says you don't have a choice.
It doesn't matter what state it is in, any law that discriminates against private action and exercising private property rights is UN-American, and anti-freedom as frick and basically the gov't saying they own your labor, your property and discriminating against your economic freedom.
You sound like you support that kind of thing.

not to hate here, but I believe I'm above animals, since I can make "moral" choices and they can't ....
they also eat their young

So if homosexuality were natural, everyone would be gay?
