Wow, this thread is a shite show.
The fact that homosexuality occurs is enough to deem it natural. Various species in the animal kingdom display homosexual tendencies. How can someone deny that it is natural?
As for the argument that if it was natural we would die out.
First of all, mutations in genes aren't always "for the benefit of the species" like someone earlier suggested. Mutations occur, most are benign, some are bad, and some are good.
While I personally think there is a genetic component to homosexuality, I do believe it is mostly in how the brain is wired. It most certainly is not a choice. I don't consciously choose who i'm attracted too. Why would I assume a man would fight his "nature" to be attracted to a man by choice? That makes no sense.
Additionally, i'm also FOR the freedom of speech. Call homosexuals whatever you want to call them. Just be prepared for more flamboyent displays of their lifestyle. Newton's Third Law.

the main non-religious issue is that gay men are exponentially more likely to contract/spread AIDS
this is a reality that is oft-ignored, and it is a legitimate part of the policy debate...but you'll be called a bigot if you bring it up
i'm pro-freedom for homosexuals, but i don't want to pay for the medical treatment arising from their risky behaviors.

it is definitely a biological defect, but if we were to apply your argument to a wider discussion, blowjobs would be outlawed

God doesn't block you at the "gates" for your sin. If he did, no one could enter. Every single person on the face of this Earth has sinned (probably millions of times).

The whole argument is just a thinly veiled excuse for their hatred and bigotry.
ah, but what is the line?
like i've said 1,000 times on the poli board by now...i want to wrap up all of these "oppressed classes" of people in one societal swoop. other than gays, who else do we need to warp our judicial system to protect with extra rights? i don't want to have this discussion ever 5-10 years with some new group
so what is the list?

I just don't like this argument applied to pretty much any topic. This excuse can be used to argue for the control of any and all aspects of people's lives. I think that it's only decent use is arguing against public healthcare, which I don't really want to get into right now.

Funny, many of the people now citing "religious reasons" against gay marriage are the same ones (and their parents) who 30-40 years ago who thought interracial marriage was unnatural and anti-Christian.

Don't put a veil on my hatred and bigotry. It comes natural so I roll with it.

how do homosexuals impact your life on a daily basis?
It started when I was about 12. One of those cocksuckers (literally one) tried to coax me into his house.

Rick Perry says it's like alcoholism, you may be predisposed to it, but can choose not to be gay, setting up clinics to "cure" you

all the "it's not natural" people crack me up
It is definitely "natural". I grew up 2 houses down from a guy that was effeminate from the earliest age. His only "choice" was to act on it when he got to a point in life where he knew what sex acts were.
I was always nice to him as I have been to every queer person in my life. Being disgusted by them has been natural to my alpha male leanings.

Interesting. So this kid who can't help his leanings, should just hide in the closet to avoid offending you alpha males? Surely he isn't a threat to you? He isn't competing for your women, nor is he after you. Well, except for that time when y'all were 11, and maybe experimented a little. But still, he should base his lifestyle on what you find acceptible.
