Coming back from a weekend spent in Charlotte and the NC mountains.

Good people, culture, weather, COL, etc. If you live in Charlotte you’re 1.5 hours from the mountains and 3 hours from the beach; vice versa if in Raleigh. So much do to for all types of people.

I would move here in a heartbeat if I got a better-paying job.

Friend,

I cannot. Still, North Carolina does not have a city even half as great as New Orleans. It is a beautiful state, but it is lacking a great city.

There’s about 3+ I’d put in front of NC starting with South Carolina.

North Carolina is nice and has a little of everything... but nothing that's really 'great'

Raleigh is pretty legit. Only thing missing is a legit place to ski within 3 hours. I question my decision to move from there sometimes.

NC is a bit try-hard and Yankee, but that's just insanity.

Raleigh
great place to raise a family. Educated population. Diverse economy. Moderate weather. Arts/Museum/theater scene is better than most cities it’s size. College sports. Low crime/cultcha

The family & I moved just outside of Raleigh from Baton Rouge. We are fairly close to the beach & mountains. It’s certainly not perfect, but it’s an upgrade for us. Too many pros for us as a family.
