Could you make it for 60 days in the basin Naked and Afraid?

If they make fire they could make smoke.

If they make smoke, they can keep away mosquitos.

If they have smoke and fire, 99% of things in louisiana can be eaten

Idk the rules. But without a pocketknife, it'd be hard.

With a pocketknife, sure. I could build shelter fairly easily, I could starve for 60 days and still live. As long as I could get 1-2l of water a day and a little salt i'd be miserable, but I'd live.

You can eat most of the roots of our native plants for water and simple sugars.

You can lick a deer lick for salt.

There's tons of rope, or plastic bottles that can be made into rope everywhere.

There's tarps across almost every pipeline that can be taken.

Yes. Much like being multiple family members to the same person earns you a masters at Alabama,

what amazes me is they haven't figured this out on any naked and afraid...actually they had a small fire going and it wasn't working....they don't realize you need a bigger fire...id have a bon fire practically... ...

Unless it rains. Then it will be a giant soggy mess. Try building a fire in a swamp after a 2 hour rain shower.

....you are surrounded by moss and cypress. The insides of moss will always be dry. It repels water. Cypress balls can be smashed and are full of flammable sap.

Any downed cypress log will have soft material that can be scraped away until you reach something dry and flammable.

<---survival nerd

I don't watch TV, I basically watch streamers and survival Youtube channels from all over the world.

Corporals Corner and Advoko Makes being my favorite.

That’s great, but this is for like 3 weeks I think? Even with multiple people, keeping a large fire without a chainsaw and power equipment managed is almost impossible. Then making it actually smoke and keep it going, is very difficult too. They point of the show is to expend as little energy as possible to survive, not get a 10 hour work out collecting fire wood daily.

Also, while smoke does work for bugs it’s not that great. If there’s a small breeze that’s light enough for bugs to fly it’s hard to keep the smoke on you. Also, smoke only happens around a fire. Can’t collect firewood, food etc, next to the fire.

Long story short, bugs would be the worst part about these shows.

Does dried up mud all over the body not keep the bugs from biting ? I mean the swamps offer and endless supply of thick muddish clay correct? Hell most of it you sink waste deep in it when walking in the swamps.

Short of literally having to survive in a grocery store, they are in the most calorically saturated bit of land in the world.
