The Battles of Mansfield and Pleasant Hill are theirs to own in perpetuity. Both battles very important during the Red River campaign of 1864. Mansfield was the one of the last great Confederate Victories. I've been to the Mansfield reenactment event a couple of times and it is wonderful.

That's their right. They might appear to be a bit silly at a Christmas Parade celebrating the oldest settlement established in French Colonial Louisiana.
Nachitoches's history is focused on 1714, the date of its founding, not on a military campaign that occurred a full one hundred and fifty years later, in 1864.
We need to celebrate our French Colonial Empire history in Nachitoches. We already have Mansfield and Pleasant Hill for the Civil War Red River campaign victory.
Anyway that wraps up my 2 cents worth on the subject.
