You think a veto and an override happen in the same day? It's Friday and I'm assuming Louisiana's legislature is a part time job which means they aren't in session at all times to do it.
No. Just saying I thought the votes were there and a vote should be able to take place in an upcoming special session.

My State Rep thinks they don’t have the votes in the House to override. Let’s hope he’s wrong.

Of course, but does it have to always be last place? Top of the bad list, bottom of the good list.
Louisiana...Come for the culture, stay for the corruption.

Yep. He and Gordon were giggling like school girls on election night together. The dumbass Republicans for Edwards got played.

A vote for JBE was a vote for Morris Bart and Gordon McKernan. The 2nd term is when the big money donors really get their backs scratched.

Can somebody find that picture of Gordon laughing it up in the JBE war room on election night. I have Cox and they scrubbed it from my internets.

incorrect. democrats tried to put a clause requiring insurance rates to be cut, but the republican legislators did not support that clause.
Posted on 6/12/20 at 9:59 pm to Parmen
they tried to out the clause of requirement in. republican legislators did not vote that amendment in.

The argument is it wouldn't lower rates enough for people who don't already purchase insurance to wake up and purchase it. So LA rates would still stay high.
Yeah, maybe. But still, there’s no reason to not bring the law more in line with all the other states that have cheaper ins rates.
The opponents who screamed that there was no guarantee that rates would fall by X amount. Well of course there are no guarantees in life. But create a legal and business environment that makes rate decreases possible. The status quo certainly won’t do it.
