They're really sweeping this under the rug hard. Nothing at all from WAFB or Kiran Chawla and now it's buried on WBRZ.

Someone needs to pull that thread, because there is a lot more to unravel.

Well, the half they're reporting is pretty clear corruption, so feel free to share the exonerating information.

this wasn't meant to be a corruption witch hunt, this was just meant to be a hit piece on Laurie, thats why his name isn't even in the title of the report.

Well, the facts as laid out are pretty damning of her. Also, nobody knows him as anything other than her husband. She is the elected official who committed an ethics violation at the very least by participating in the execution of a contract with her husband's agency. All signs are pointing to far more substantial federal charges.

Office attorney takes some paperwork home to finish. It has to be notarized and witnessed before it can be completed. He calls his wife over and has her witness the notary because what is he going to do, call his neighbor over? Does that mean she had a hand in anything? Nope, but it sounds damning. Contract itself couldn't have been approved by anyone but the Commissioner, so was he in on it? doesn't look like WBRZ even tried that thread

Of course Lora doesn't have the hundreds of millions to match their liabilities. For Lora to become liable for that much money, a few hundred oil companies would have to go belly up in the middle of the night. And if a few hundred oil companies died overnight, I think the last thing Louisiana would be worried about is if LORA could pay to plug all those wells.

Its like an insurance company, They make money off you not getting into a wreck, but hey if it happens, they can cover the cost of fixing your car

Weird how he gets this house for "free", but hes paying a mortgage on it 5 months later. Sure doesn't sound like it was free

Just a coincidence that both of their children got hired by the same agency at the same time. Imagine the surprise of those execs to learn two siblings had been hired totally independently of one another on their own merits and they just happened to be the children of this elected official and her state employee husband they were doing business with (after fronting them the $700k cash for their house). Nothing to see here, move along.

youre right! thats an interesting question. Weird that don't go into more detail on that. So the kids weren't working for LORA, they were like contractors through a different company. What were they even doing? How long did they work there? are they still even there?

Light on the details there as well. Lot of bread and sauce in this sandwich, but whereeees the meat

Are you Johnny or Laurie? You created account yesterday and have 7 posts all about this topic. Either way. Tell us what really happened since you clearly know and the news is telling the whole truth on it.

Government corruption is a pandemic, and they are not even trying to hide it anymore....

Nobody goes to jail or loses their financial well being.....until that happens, nothing gonna change.

The witnesses attest to watching the signer sign, not the notary. Get off the internet and go hire a white collar criminal defense lawyer.

They aren't posting half the details, just what sounds the worst. And it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact Laurie ran against Dixon Mcmakin last election whose wife is COINCIDENTALLY an investigative reporter at WBRZ.

That's some pretty juicy facts, but the way WBRZ is going through employees lately, not surprising... but, speaking of WBRZ employees:

You sound like a defense attorney scrambling to defend an impossible case to win

If what is being claimed is not fabricated, it is most certainly a crime, and I think the loss of political aspirations will be ghe least significant outcome

Like Will Clark said to Rafael Palmeiro, “Hey Boss, you got caught”

You sure hear some fantastic STORIES. Here are some facts.
1. Absolutely correct as I have seen wells logged and operator lie to co-owners and come back later, hell I had it happen to me in Red River Parish.
2. Move Oil from lease with co-owners and .75 NRI to lease owned by operator with .875 NRI, absolutely seen it.
3. Impossible to sell Oil without paying severance tax and royalty, as we must furnish division order title opinion from attorney to Oil purchaser and must obtain authority to transport from LOC via form R-4.
4. You are delusional to call all independent operators SHITTY just because SOME are crooks. Don’t see you calling all loggers shitty just because SOME haul logs to other mills without landowner knowledge. Or SOME farmers that haul grain to elevator with cash rent farm number when it actually came from share rent farm.
5. I am sure that IF you have a job everyone in your profession are perfect.
6. My point of my earlier post was to provide information to this board from operator prospective, If you take time to read my prior post, I stated my opinion of why we have orphan Well problem. Before you call all small operators shitty you may need to research how many tax dollars to this state, you have no idea how many fees we pay to the state for inactive Well fees etc. Also shocking to you as obviously you don’t research before you post crap is how many millions of dollars we pay to EACH PARISH IN ADVALOREM TAXES..
