That sounds like....I can't quite put my finger on it.... What's the word I'm looking for when the government denies your ability to exercise a right?

I don’t want to read through pages of gun control debate regurgitation. Can anyone update if there is info on suspects or what led to the shooting?

Was the government in the right to place a 200 dollar tax on the TommyGun?

Yes they were.

OP should just update title to gun control debate and start another thread. I’m not sure this one can be redeemed.

The reason why I ask you for definitions and logical frameworks for things is literally every comment in this vein that you post could literally be directed back at you with minimal effort and no loss of consistency.

You are offering your own personal value judgements as though they are common to all people and they simply are not.

Unless you have toted a combat load of 5.56 rounds and other times a combat load of 7.62 , you will never understand.

There is no logical reason why populace need a 50 round drum of 7.62. Saying otherwise is not using common sense.

For all the reasons the forefathers intended. A disarmed populace becomes at best a criminals dream, at worst a dictatorship. Proven time and again through history. Look at England, they are trying to ban kitchen knives currently

You know why these people don’t share my opinion. They have “don’t tread on me” tattoos and shite.

so “common sense” to you seems to be “sensibilities that are shared amongst those who share my belief systems and value judgements”

Nifty.

It’s shared on a practical standpoint as well. Do you believe it to be practical to be toting a 50 round 7.62 drum around the woods in BFE for hunting purposes. Please enlighten me why that’s practical at all. Target practice? Why?

Y’all still arguing about rifle ammo? It looks like only handguns were involved.

When did laws become based on practicality?

I don’t see why people ought to bare any burden to justify that to you.

My philosophy of government dictates that one has to articulate where the limitations of rights are, because the rights in general have been granted by federal law. I think it is reasonable to expect a logically consistent standard and rational framework for evaluation of where those limitations ought to be.

In other words, it is those advocating for restrictions who ought to justify why the restrictions should exist, not the other way around.

Because your opinion is stupid and isn't based on truths.

More like inconvenience. Government could easily slap an extra form on any wanting to purchase extended magazines that are beyond the norm and your rights would still be intact.

Now spell out how this would cut down on gun violence or mass shootings IN ANY WAY. Let's not forget the reason this whole debate started - this event that happened in Dadeville where only handguns were involved.

Really break it down for us, instead of the old "we have to do something, common sense, blah blah blah" empty platitudes.

We'll wait.

That is the way it should be and the way it was for a whole decade. The limitations are there in black and white:

Can the ban make the populace safer. Yes
Are there alternatives to the banned instrument for citizens to pick up instead- yes

Is the ban narrowly tailored to accommomolish what is in state’s interest. Yes
