This is where people need to check their emotions at the door when doing business. I've found that when people become emotional, it's rather difficult for them to make intelligent business decisions.

I would hate to be a car salesman.
Just seems like such a bullshite job. Dealing with the public is already bad enough then you throw in all of the preconceived notions people have about buying a car and car salesman and I bet it makes for a frustrating damn job.

I would have strung you along thinking I wanted to finance and when I got you down to the price I wanted I would then pull the rug from under you and pay cash.

I can't remember the last time I dealt with a car salesman. They're pretty much useless to me.

I agree actually. It's a job that will be obsolete sooner than later anyway. The internet will kill car salesman jobs one day.

I imagine all but the highest and lowest end retail sales jobs will be killed off by the web.

Yeah the dealership sure got a ton of that interest I paid to the credit union. Most people will finance through their bank or credit union instead of dealership. The only time I went through them was when carmax finance was a full pt lower than my credit union. They're making about $20 a month in interest on my wife's van.

Yeah but you bought from Carmax, so they made a shite ton on the deal anyway.

I hope this clears some things up for a lot of people.
who thinks this?
i always opt for the DELUXE 27% dealer financing to get the best price on the car and then either pay it in full a few days later or convert the loan at the credit union to the 2% financing rate.

When I walk into a dealership, I'm not looking for them to give me any 'special deals' for a cash sale. I already know what the car is worth and the profit they can expect to make.
I make them a fair offer and if they don't accept it, I walk out and find another place. There is no haggling, back room dealing, no bringing in a 'closer'.
I bought cars on the first day of looking and gone weeks till I found a vehicle and dealer that would accept the deal. It's more of their choice than mine.

^ this me and my wife just bought a car cash. I told him we had 32000 and this is the vehicle we want. They tried to haggle so I informed them thanks for your time I'm headed to bay Chevy see what they think. I didn't make it out of the parking lot and they stopped me and we made the deal. So I guess now I'm supposed to feel bad.

I hate the " out the door" people. They dont understand thats not how it works. Someone some day will buy this car. I treat all people the same and just because your interested in the car doesnt mean I will get controlled. We do an old school version of car sales. If you dont like that we only mark the xar up 2 to 4k and insist we only pay 500 for these cars then have a nice day.

Cash Flow.
It is beneficial for a dealer to make a certain % of cash deals for this reason alone. Especially when sells are low or below average over a period of time. In fact, they need cash deals to sustain their business. How low they sell a car for cash is relative to their current cash flow needs.
No different than any other business selling a commodity.

Does everyone here realize that the dealership actually makes less money like that? They make more money financing cars, not selling them as cash deals.

Has nothing to do with control. It has everything to do with being knowledgeable about the vehicle and the process.
As I said, I already know what your mark up is and I know what your profit margin is. I'm not disrespectful nor will I accept rudeness from any salesperson.
Most salespeople I have dealt with would rather deal with someone that is straight up with them in the beginning, than having to play the game for days on in and then have it fall through.

So you're bitching about your customers on a public website. Good lord.
