Mystery Pin

This belonged to wife’s grandfather. We have know idea what it is for. Any ideas?



Edit: Mystery solved? - He was a chemist with Allied Chemical. It turns out that Allied absorbed a company named Solvay, so we believe that the “S” is for Solvay.

Was he a part of masonic lodge or elk lodge? My money is on some organization like that.

This an old registered trademark for The Solvay Process Company.

My grandfather worked at and retired from Solvay. I wonder if my dad has his service pin.
