NORAD's reply was quick and clear. An incident involving multiple airline crews, air traffic control, and F-15Cs from the 142nd Fighter Wing based out of Portland did occur. According to the limited information NORAD supplied, airliner pilots were asked by FAA air traffic controllers to help track and possibly identify a "white aircraft" traveling in the flightlevels nearby—roughly between 35,000 and 40,000 feet based on the radio recordings. NORAD also said that the incident did result in F-15s from Portland being scrambled to investigate, but by the time they got up and "looked around" the mystery aircraft couldn't be found.

Apparently multiple airlines visually saw a white aircraft flying 35,000 - 40,000 feet that was not pick up by radar. It was tracked, non-responsive, and the airlines lost contact.
It was initially brushed under the rug but a reddit user/pilot busted open the story, it was investigated and confirmed.
The linked article links the actual flight tower exchanges.
Some shady stuff going on in our skies.

Only one reasonable explanation...
The Google AI has taught itself to build high-performance aircraft that can evade our best pilots. We’re doomed
ETA: Damn you breesus

It's privilege allowed it to be not picked up on radar

A black plane would’ve been shot immediately, even if it complied

We as Americans would be ignorant to assume we're the only nation on earth that has the capability to fly surveillance in other nations' airspace without being detected by radar. I'd guess this was Russia or China doing surveillance on us. It's probably happened for years.
