Who falls for an arrest warrant over the phone in a first world country? When they kick my door down I will deal with it then.

I believe you, but it makes no sense to fall for that.

That makes no sense
It makes even less sense in his followup.
He filed a claim with his home insurance provider.

Since the warrant was already out, I would be arrested on the spot if I came into the office. BUT.......they, conveniently had a way out, All I would have to do would be head down to the coin machine (I'm guessing some kind of bitcoinish) and deposit my fine amount and all I had to do was read them the receipt numbers to them.
That’s not how arrests work at all.

I believe you OP. They tried to get me and even though I knew it couldn't be They sounded so convincing that I hesitated for a second before I told them they were scammers and hung up.
My elderly Mom was on the phone with them for 45 minutes. Finally she told them she doesn't do any big financial moves without talking to her son first.
They are good at what they do.

I appreciate that. I keep thinking I am going to wake up and this was a dream. It’s just hard to process that anyone could fall for something like this. My wife is very trusting and got caught up in this. They are very convincing. If it was three or four thousand dollars it wouldn’t have been that big of a deal. This was very significant. We do well so it won’t break us but man it hurts to know someone pulled this over on her, and I guess us by default.

There was a doc or episode about this same scam. It's wild really. Ended up with someone innocent actually getting shot and killed.
The scammer paid for an Uber delivery person to pick up the money and the person shot them thinking it was the scammer coming to collect. The Uber driver was just being paid to pick up a package. She was not involved whatsoever.
LINK
I don't remember if it was the same scammer, but there was a scammer that told a family it was their daughter or son who had a warrant and needed money to settle it. I am sorry, but it's ridiculous to fall for this.
It was this. Check out this link.

Court records detail a daylong scam in which scammers tried to illicit $12,000 from Brock. On the morning of March 25, Brock received a call “from a series of individuals who indicated that a young person related to a family friend was incarcerated as a result of a vehicular homicide near Shoemaker’s IGA and Park National Bank in the downtown area of South Charleston,” according to court records.
Brock spoke to someone claiming to be a lawyer, someone claiming to be a judge, a person claiming to be a bail bondsman and a “gangster,” according to court filings.
The call started as a “believable narrative when someone claiming to be the grandson of a family friend hysterically said he had been in a crash involving a pregnant woman and he was with his attorney, who tried to convince Brock that he needed to provide funds to bail him out of jail.
A man pretending to be a judge then allegedly confirmed what the family friend and attorney said and Brock believed the situation, according to court records.

When it was done they told her they had additional charges besides the failure to appear. If she paid this money it would be given back to us when the charges were cleared up.
They said if she hung up the phone all fines would be permanent. I can’t explain how anyone could fall for this but she is devastated. I manage all of the money and she has no idea what bitcoin is.
That's pretty much the line they fed me. If I told anyone (including my wife) or hung up the phone, I would surely be arrested.

My wife is bleach blonde and fits the stereotypes and I can say with absolute certainty she would never do this without talking to me first.
OP, your wife is fricking around.
