Was told they had a warrant for her arrest. Withdrew $17,000 and submitted it to some type of coin thing. I am so motherfricking mad I don't know what to do. She is normally not a fricking idiot but this is really hard to take.

My next door neighbor is an FBI agent and he basically said the money is gone. If I had a gun I would shoot these scam artists motherfrickers.

I don't believe the story, but playing along, there is zero respect in that marriage if wife withdraws 17k without so much as a call to husband.

Yeah they don’t lead with that in my experience.

Embarressed to say....I was on the hook for about 10 minutes. I knew better than to answer the unknown caller. It was a sheriff's deputy, I had missed a summons for jury duty. I was switched to a different deputy and had to come to the S.O. to make it right. I was under some "custody" and couldn't hang up the phone or I'd be in violation of custody. Was told to withdraw $2500 and deposit cash or bitcoin into a kiosk somewhere. That's when I knew it was a scam, that and one deputy had a lisp....They were pretty slick TBH

It is hard to believe. She called me from the Sheriff's department. I have the receipts from the transactions. My neighbor looked up everything and said several other people fell for the same scam.

So she paid to avoid an arrest and showed up at the police dept anyway?

So your wife went to the bank and withdrew 17k to give to some coin thing because “they” have a warrant?

I’m guessing lie. When you withdraw that much they have to by law ask you why you are withdrawing that much. As soon as she says “my husbands warrant” they would notify her that it’s a potential scam.

Thats also an extremely high amount for that scam. They normally only do it for $2000 to $5000 because how the hell would they know that she would be able to quickly access $17k. The scam doesn’t work if she is on the way to the bank and her husband calls her or she tries to call him.

You adding the bitcoin part to the story went a little too far. Not a chance in hell this is legit.

I used bitcoin for years for nefarious purposes, and there’s no way your wife would purchase and transfer $17,000 worth of bitcoin to without consulting you. Unless she’s an absolute retard

She is sleeping with your neighbor, and they are about to go on a really nice trip together.
