Has anyone been doing this?

If anything most are saying don’t justify abortion claiming it was about saving the feelings of the existing kid. Aborting kid versus kid dying later both equate to kid dying. Trying to pretend abortion isn’t killing a child is big part of this country’s problem. It was also about abortion ending the chance the baby still had including the additional risk of the required surgeries with some here stating they had kids with same diagnosis survive and start to thrive. Maybe different eras medically, but there is some risk with pregnancies and just in life as kids grow up. If existing kids can’t handle that risk then after you have 1 get snipped, have hysterectomy, or both to ensure at least this one risk is minimized for them…

We had a situation with our first child as the sonograms at a certain time could not show a frontal lobe at all. Our doctor presented several options to us with one being termination of the pregnancy. Our response to him was an immediate hello no that is not an option. 17 years later, our son is about to enter his senior year in high school as a highly successful student and athlete.

This is an eye-opening post. The bible thumpers could use some real world examples for how the issue isn’t so cut and dry. But my guess is they won’t and will judge you and your family for such a gutwrenching decision.

Pretty sure many on the OT have offered support in various ways to other OTers in need that they didn’t know in real life.

You murdered your own baby in order to make life easier for you. All of everything else you posted is speculation that you use to help your conscience. Whether your child live an hour , a month, a year or 10yrs is better than getting its head crushed and brain and the rest of body parts cuts to pieces sucked out via a vacuum and incinerated...

Tell your parents when they start getting old and are a hassle to take care of that you plan to abort them to an early grave.

This is what a 22 week old baby human looks like. I hope this image haunts you.

Props to you for sharing this, especially with all of the people on this board who live their black & white simple lives where they don't want anyone telling them what to do, but think they know what's best for others.

IMO, you and your wife made the right decision. No child should have to suffer and you made sure your baby didn't have to and it was probably a tougher decision to do what you and your wife did. I know there will be a bunch of judge mental fricks on this board but they can all choke on a dick.

They are all living in their worlds where they are expected to be a certain way and if they do anything that's not acceptable among their peers and family they have to pretend it didn't happen and never talk about it because how dare they do something that goes against everything they were always taught was wrong?

It takes a bigger person to address things that they have dealt with. Maybe it will make a few people even realize its not their right or the government's right to tell people they are not allowed to certain decisions that will have an impact on their family.

We did as well. She had just lost a baby at about four months and then we got pregnant right after. The doc said the cervix or womb or whatever it was wasn’t healed and there was no chance at all the baby would be able to be held to term so we made the decision to have one.

Nope, not really. Just a human that believes murdering a baby for convenience is horrid.

Your body, your choice. Huh. Have you ever watched a human dismembered? Are you against the torture of animals? Would you stand by and watch a person kill an infant? No, I didn't think so. Then, you are a hypocrite. Get educated and actually see what abortion looks like. That is a HUMAN. Completely defenseless and dependent on the womb that is carrying. To think "termination" is anything different than shooting me in the head at this very moment is very...infantile.

I love to read the success stories.huge praise to you guys and your beautiful young man.

Unfortunately our prognosis was much more complicated than the typical (if there such a thing) HLHS.

I'm very aware what she looked like. We held her and sobbed together after the procedure.

We had her cremated and I put her ashes under a tree I planted in our backyard.

Your ability to remain calm in your responses is impressive, and everyone here is better for it. Thank you.
