My speed queen made it through the flood. What now?

Seems like it is really loud now. Any preventative maintenance I need to do. May have always been loud but is only noticeable since I have no walls now lol.

I am not a appliance repairman, but if water got in the bearings, they could be going bad from lack of lubrication.

If washer is it loud when spinning?
If Dryer just need new roller bearings most likely.
Whats the model number?
bearings are usually pretty cheap. You can spray some lube on them and the sound will go away temporarily. If its bearings.

Washer. and I think it is louder when spinning. I will have to listen again and be sure

number 11 is the bearing. It could be whats making the noise, another culprit could be the transmission.
Is it a screeching sound? A scratching sound? A thumping sound or a long drawn out constant whine?
Get some silicone grease spray and just spray the bearing really well.

I am currently washing a test load to see. Seems loud during agitation but I read online speed Queens are louder than others. So I think that may just be noticeable without walls and laundry room door now. Waiting on spin cycle.

Also just loud while spinning not really a whine but that would be the closest description. May be normally this loud and I just never noticed because I always shut the door. It is WAY louder than any GE or whirlpool I have ever owned.

Speed Queens are louder. They are commercial made.
GE's are usually the quietest, but have the highest fail rate by far.

Can a loose/wobbly front load washer basket be repaired? Mostly what I've read is entire washer needs to be replaced.

LG's are pretty good for being cheaper units. I like the Maytags as well and the Frigidaire/Electrolux are nice. Just stay away from GE in that category. Samsung front loaders are nice their top loaders are shite though.

Yes and no, depends on the brand. Generally no, I mean it can be repaired but usually you need the entire rear tub support structure which is a nearly $400 part. (and around $200 in labor if not more)

Hijacking the already hijacked thread. Just wanted to give a shout out to Napoleon for all of the info he has posted regarding appliances on the OT. Just finished building a house, and have used the posts from him and g8torhomer. I've bought my dishwasher, washer and dryer using insight they have provided. Now I've just got to get the refrigerator and I'm done...well, that and the microwave drawer.
Anyway...thanks to both of them for sharing their knowledge.
