My son's rec league team doing a 'can shake' for district funds

Can shake at Rouse's from 10-2...
What in the holy crap? How goddamn white trash is that? Luckily we'll be at a select tournament in NOLA, so I don't have to deal with it...but damn, is a 'can shake' considered fund raising these days? Wash some fricking cars or sell some damn chocolate bars. IDK, I sure as shite wouldn't let my 9 yr old beg for money to play soccer. I can't imagine anyone with dignity allowing that.

He's going to finish it out. He's got soccer practice 3 other nights a week though, so he'll make practice when he can.
Rec league is really fun for him though, he plays sweeper. He's a natural forward but in this league he best serves his team as a stopper. He gets every set play and all goal kicks, so he has a hoot out there. Select is a much different beast.
