By whom? everything I've read says otherwise.

Fraternal multiples are the result of multiple eggs being dropped during ovulation. That can be passed down in a family, but it obviously only effects the women.

If you're a twin, your son isn't at risk of having twins anymore than anyone else, but your daughter might be.

lol, how do you know 'his own business" isn't driving around in a Chevy s-10 weeding flower beds? Not many 27yos have successful businesses that soon out of the gate.

This. No way his business unless it's family owned is developed that far.

Hopefully it's more profitable than i suspect.

I know a few people that "own businesses" that are just side gigs generally.

He and his family are going to be just fine. At least he's not 19 in the middle of college. They will probably need some help when the babes come home but things should get easier as the kids grow.

Triplets, wow! Congratulations, Paw-Paw.

That shite needs to be crowdfunded. How is this not already happening?

It's already "happening" as it's been researched, it's just not very realistic. All of the trials have produced too many side effects to bring any of the drugs to market.

Women naturally have a state of their body when they can't get pregnant. Female birth control obviously just uses hormone modification to induce that state.

But, men don't have a natural state in which they're not producing viable swimmers. So pretty much any chemical or hormone a male puts in his body that prevents him from creating sperm is gonna frick with the body in all kinds of undesirable ways. I don't know about you, but I'll use condoms before I take something that makes me grow tits or gives me cancer.

Same thing happened to me. Twins though

We decided on an abortion. She ended up killing herself a year later.

Her parents blamed me for some reason.

Interesting info, caused me to read a little current information. I did find that there is speculation the SOME identical twins may be the result of genetics but it is a hypothesis only.

quote:

Monozygotic (MZ) twins, also called identical twins, occur when a single egg cell is fertilized by a single sperm cell. The resulting zygote splits into two very early in development, leading to the formation of two separate embryos. MZ twins occur in 3 to 4 per 1,000 births worldwide. Research suggests that most cases of MZ twinning are not caused by genetic factors. However, a few families with a larger-than-expected number of MZ twins have been reported, which indicates that genetics may play a role. It is possible that genes involved in sticking cells together (cell adhesion) may contribute to MZ twinning, although this hypothesis has not been confirmed. Most of the time, the cause of MZ twinning is unknown.

Interesting read.

By and large, though, it looks like I was wrong, thanks for pushing me to check myself.

I've got identical twins. People ask us if twins run in our family, and they actually do, but I used to explain how identical twins weren't genetic even though my wife has a higher chance of having fraternal twins. After a few explanations, I decided it was much easier to just tell people "yes" when they ask if twins run in our family.

Slackster,

Same here!
I have an aunt and uncle twins, fraternal brother twins and identical daughters.
Yet, my research tells me there was a very small chance 1-3% that I provided genetic coding for a split.

Otherwise, the majority of having twins is the mother's genetics for releasing multiple eggs AND her genetic disposition to carry multiple babies to viable birth.

To OP. Your son's situation......the very first thought I had was the singer gal has been taking clomid. I bet she loves the dramatic. If she is truly a cool chick, I hope he can happily marry her and raise those babies right!
Good luck!!!!
