I'm sure it is hard being a father hearing your son wants to dance. All I can say is be supportive. If ball games weren't his thing then maybe he will be great at this. Just make sure he's happy and don't force anything on him. The unfortunate thing that comes with this would be bullying from other classmates or others. Not many men would want to be in your shoes as a father but it could be worse. Just be there, that's all. I'm sure there's other message boards on other sites you could talk to other supportive fathers about this issue (with dance etc.)

This can't be true, surely someone wouldn't seriously bring this problem to the OT

Would you two queers quit bickering over shoes, we are trying to help this dad and his 15 year old dancer son out in here.

Let him.

He's probably gay, but may not be. Either way, you being an a-hole about it won't help anything in the long run.

He's either gay or about to sleep with every girl in dance class.

Either way, be happy for the guy.

He's only 15 and likely to change his mind. Still, I'd make sure he had professional dance classes. Either he will love it and the experience will help in his career, or he will be able to see that it's not for him.

This guy was a professional dancer and I'd be totally cool if my son wanted to be like him
