I just got a new one three weeks ago. It cost 20,998.00
Ours was about $13k, but that was May 2020. That seems like a lot of $$ to me. Probably 25% higher now.

They called ME after Hurricane Ike to see if I needed anything the day after the storm passed through. We will never change. They have always been awesome.

We've been with Germania for 20 years (home and auto), have always had great customer service. Had a roof replaced and copper pipe break in our slab that turned into a fiasco, they never balked on anything and always made sure we were taken care of. Had Progressive for my boat insurance and had to file a claim, I was expecting the worse with it being a big company and being about the cheapest policy I could find and I was pleasantly surprised and was taken care of without any issues.

Did you and the family recover from the stomach virus? Hope all are well. Keep that shite in the AP.
Yep, the kids finally stopped with diarrhea a couple days ago. I haven’t had covid but I would put that stomach virus way ahead of covid in terms of severity any day. That crap was terrible.

That can be cheap in Texas.

I’ve had great experiences with USAA including a roof replacement due to hail damage
Posted on 6/29/21 at 8:57 pm to TDsngumbo
They are fricking awesome.
Flat out.
Having to replace my roof for a second time after hail last year and hurricane this year.
No problems. Zero. They went beyond when we were evacuated. Zero fuss and fight. I had an insurance guy on top of the roof a week after Laura.
I had money in my account electronically Tuesday after the storm for expenses.
Beat thing my father in law ever gave me was USAA insurance.
I have everything with them.

Same here, we qualify for USAA because my father in law kicked arse on the Mekong River in Vietnam. Other than my wife (hi honey, if you’re reading this) USAA is the best thing he ever gave me.

Usaa isn’t the greatest but they are still good. It really depends on what state you live in as far as the best carriers.
Usaa ho rates get up there as you keep them over the years. I haven’t checked their current policies as I haven’t had them in 7+ years but their gun limits suck.
I had somewhat difficulty 12 years ago with a hail claim from them and paying for the proper amount of squares. It took some fighting but this was before current satellite tech.

I had renters insurance through USAA a few years ago when I liven in on post housing. Some kids broke in and raided my humidor of around 100 cigars. USAA gave me $15 per cigar with no receipts or anything.
All I got.
All I got.

Wife loves USAA so I don't fight it. Totaled a year old 4Runner a few years ago and they would only pay"book" of. $29.5k....
I provided EVERY similar listing nationwide for all 4Runners (like25 w/ same yr,mileage, options, condition, etc.) all of which were $33k or more.
They basically said screw you, take it or leave it...
Left a bad taste in my mouth, but I moved on.
Had NatFed for homeowners though and they approved a full replacement of my roof ($23k) plus some after the hurricane even though I was only expecting a few shingles to be replaced.
And that was a 18yo roof and we really only had gusts of45-50 mph.

I had a pleasant experience(got a new roof last week) with my insurance and I can’t even tell you their name. My agent switches pretty regularly.
I didn’t even realize I had damage until a roof salesman knocked on my door.
Also surprised my hurricane deductible was only $1,000

Mine post Laura and Delta was $20,548 and that’s a simple 7 on 12 no vents or whirlybirds.

Reminds me of the story (maybe not true, I’ve heard it but honestly don’t know how much truth there is to it) of an attorney buying very expensive cigars and insuring them. He then smoked them all and filed a fire claim. The insurance company fought it but ultimately lost and had to pay him because nothing in the policy stated he couldn’t smoke them. They paid him after the judge made them pay and immediately turned around and filed arson charges against him. I think they won the arson case

I’m having a new roof installed next week from a hail storm back in April. Total cost $27K.

Kinda similar. We had a big storm come through. Actually had water coming down a wall in the living room. Called USAA and they sent someone out. This guy was close to 300lbs. First I thought he would damage my roof more and second it was the middle of summer. I was just waiting for him to die. I kept giving him water bottles and Gatorade. Finally he comes down and tells me there’s not enough hail damage. He’ll send in his report and I should here back from USAA soon. I get nothing. Call USAA and they send a different guy. We’re talking in the driveway and my upcoming deployment comes up. He takes a glance at the roof and says yep, you have hail damage and USAA will pay for a new roof
