This is becoming a regular thing, mostly because people think I’m full of shite with my finds.

I spent $15, and I maybe looking at $125-$250 profit.

For $10, I bought this completely built, LEGO City Police Station. There is no box or instructions. This set sells for $275 MIB. I’ve seen one not in the box sell for $150. I’m expecting ~ $100

For $5, I bought this heavy arse Teknic motorcycle jacket. This thing weighs about 30 lbs. I’ve seen them sell for $50-$110 each. I’ll be happy with $50

Like I’ve said before, I don’t do this for the money, I do it for the hunt, the money is just the scale I use.

I have major plans for the morning tomorrow, because there’s a couple garage sales I think I will score major stuff at.

InB4: Dumpster Diver
InB4: congrats on buying other people’s junk

You may think my house looks like “Sandford and Son”, but it doesn’t. I sell 95% of the stuff I buy, and I mostly deal in smalls, so it doesn’t take up any room. If I don’t sell it, I give it away.
A couple weeks ago, I had a major hit on toys (my expertise). The guy that bought most of the stuff I was selling, I gave him every toy that I bought over the last year that didn’t sell (granted, the last 6 months, I’ve havent been garage selling).

Funny you should say that, MrsAntiqueTiger hates our kitchen floors (photo’d above). She’s been on my arse to change it. Those are 18x18 travertine tiles. The grout will not stay clean.

My wife wanted new countertops not long ago and we replaced them. Now she hates the floor It looks like that’s what happened to you, too.

I plan to change everything to bamboo soon.

I collect LEGOs and have never found a complete unassembled set, much less a complete assembled set at a garage sale. Nice find.

Better than my mom. She goes to estate sales and buys dead people's things.

She has found me some nice uranium glass pieces, though, so I don't throw those stones too hard. Mainly because the glass is mildly radioactive and we don't want to create dust or small pieces that can enter the body.

I found these two together in a CoinStar reject bin last week. I can’t believe it when people don’t notice these.

Actually my screen name is from when I collected vintage LSU items. I built a collection of LSU stuff that was top 5 collection in BR (I don’t claim to have the best). I had some extremely rare LSU pieces (one of a kind, etc). When I got tired of collecting LSU stuff, I sold my collection for $20,000+.
I built this collection with OPM (other people’s money). Some of my collection was built with rare finds at garage/estate sales, the rest of my collection was built by buying rare items with money I made from selling junk I found at garage/estate sales.
I don’t claim to be wealthy, but we are very comfortable. When I can go drop $2000 for a photograph and my wife doesn’t care, I’m doing something right.

I’ll give you 80 for it.

No box, no instructions, newer set.

My son will like it.

I don’t know coins other than a 43 copper penny. You have a Mercury dime and a wheat penny. What’s the value and what makes them rare?
I’m asking for the knowledge.
I’ve only made real money off of one coin (I’ve never really bought any). I bought a 1860-ish nickel once. Paid ¢.25, sold for $150. I forget why it was so valuable.
I once bought a plaster of Paris “King Kong” bank. It had no plug to remove the money. I bought it for $35, got it home and smashed it. There was $135 in it, including ten silver dollar coins.

I actually never graduated from college. I went to LSU for several semesters between 87-93. I grew up in the shadows of Tiger Stadium, just down Highland Rd
