Not sure that's true. I believe there are time limits for disavowal that apply to the presumed father and interested parties.

From my understanding, he might have screwed himself royally in that she could get him on the hook for child support, but he wouldn’t have a shot at any kind of custody.

So he’s doubly screwed.

Not going to pile on the OP, but everything about this situation sucks.
Right now he is legally the girl’s father, until he contests it through the court system. At the same time, I can’t imaging having to do this when he feels the daughter is his (even if it isn’t biologically).
I would contest immediately and hopefully he will be able to stay in her life somehow.

Been pretty quiet from you. Hope you're at sonic introducing your knuckles to said frick boy. Although not entirely his fault I am sure this would make you feel somewhat better.

That ain't his fault, that bitch grown, she got her own mind.

Id venture to bet that GEAUX makes a decent living. Especially if he was bank rolling this woman, her child, and everything else including the house is under his name. Idk if he's already paying child support for his son but if he gets hooked for child support for the little girl then fuuuucccckkkk

Agreed. If the guy she cheated with isn’t some friend of his, it’s totally on his woman.

Other dude was just trying to catch a nut.

I'm not a lawyer, but no way you would be forced into child support without some sort of custody right? I mean as long as the OP hasn't done anything wrong? LOL, for OP's sake I hope that's not the case.

The judge may still make him pay support. That would be the most funny and pathetic shite ever. Chick gets this dude to play daddy for child that isn't his, cheats on him with the kid's actually father, sues him for support and goes back to the kid's actual father, but doesn't get married to ensure she continues receiving support.

Most states recognize the psychological parent doctrine, which gives third-parties standing to have custody or visitation rights with a child that isn't theirs biologically. If she is seeking child support from him in a custody complaint, he would likely be able to prevail in obtaining visitation if he asserted this in a counterclaim, assuming the jurisdiction he was in recognized this doctrine.

Oh it can definitely be the case.

I hope for his sake old boy is with a lawyer right now, getting a paternity test to get his name off the birth certificate, putting all old girl’s shite in garbage bags and sending them and her daughter to her parents.

He needs to get her and her daughter as far away from his life as possible in order to have a case. The more he supports her the less chance he’ll have to make it out of this fairly unscathed

I don’t remember how birth cerificates work. Did he sign it? Could he now say she wrote my name down but I didn’t agree to that?

I'm not sure OP realizes how bad of a situation he has fricked himself into. I'm saying he's in about an OT 9 frick up right now, and if he stays with this chick and marries her he'll be pushing that OT unicorn 10 of a frick up that may be OT legendary before all is said and done.

I still can't wrap my head around meeting a chick while she is pregnant and putting your name on the BC. SMH.

The big question for me is why anyone in today's world would put their name on a birth certificate of a child that's not theirs?

Yeah this is pretty wild. I know women are good at getting what they want but this is pretty wild. First off, I would not have gotten with any women who was pregnant with another mans child. That's where he went wrong.

I dk what in his mind made him think it was a good idea to put his name on the BC. If they ended up getting married and have a happy life. Sure 4-5yrs down the line go ahead and get the legal documents to adopt her. But knowing this chick for less than 9 months and putting your name on the BC? Stop the madness.
