Being that every flu and pneumonia is now miraculously called “Covid” it’s hard to trust the numbers.

There are multiple stories of nurses sending in blank qtips with fake names that come back positive. But I dont encourage this because it’s just going to give the hysteria hypers higher numbers to trumpet.

Even with cities sending Covid positives into nursing homes, the death rate is still under half a percent.

Heard this happening many times. Working, living with someone that has/had CV19 but not contracting the virus.

I had two employees working together and both started showing symptoms and tested positive.

One got over the symptoms within a couple weeks but has retested positive 3 times...he's still quarantined at home.

The other ended up in ICU for 34 days on a vent and passed away this past weekend.

So continue to make your jokes and remarks but try to stay safe and healthy.

Hmmm.... maybe you have some sort of super strong mutant immune system. Respect.

Well, I do go to the gym, eat healthy, don’t smoke, and practice good hygiene. I think that probably has something to do with it. As it does with most diseases and viruses.

Well at first when the mortality rate was looking like 2-3%, those numbers are kinda scary. But now it’s just become fashionable to worry about COVID

Guy that that had symptoms but still testing positive is white, mid 50's, has asthma, crohn's, and one kidney.

The person that passed away is black, late 50's and no apparent underlying symptoms and appeared to be in good health.

Me and my girl did everything per normal. Ate together, drank after one another, slept together, etc. I was COVID-positive. She wasn't.

It's nonsense.

I’ve had 100 exposures face to face as my patients in past week and I’m still fine. I did get rapid test last week to make sure I was negative before I went down to in laws. I’d rather get it at this point and gain some kind of immunity

There was actually a study a few months ago showing the risk of catching it from a casual interaction in the workplace was <5% and if someone in your house was sick the risk was only 10%.

Masks do reduce it even further, you have to remember you’re dealing with statistics of scale. If a positive person casually interacts with 100 people a day, he infected 3-5 others. A casual interaction would just be defined as walking by them and breathing. The mask would make it 1-3 others instead of 3-5.

This has been Shroedenburg's virus from the get go. It's both extremely easy to spread and hard to catch. Closest I think I've seen to a solid theory was from a Quilette article a few months back - basically asymptomatic spread is possible, but requires some easily avoidable conditions (talking very loudly, singing, screaming, etc...).

I know of two separate families (one mom + dad + 2 kids and one mom + dad + three kids, two of kids teenagers) that had just the dad test positive and all rest of the family still tested negative even though they all live together.

Not a lot about the virus makes sense the way the media tells us it does

I understand that this is a sad situation, but this is also life. I can't imagine my wife or I would feel if one or the other passed away. But it will happen eventually. And especially when someone is young, it's tragic. The story about the broadway guy killed me. Young, married, seemingly great relationship, small child. And he is dead. That fricking sucks.

I'm okay with wearing a mask indoors until there is a vaccine. My issue is not with the mask, rather the behavior that accompanies the mask. So when COVID is over are we still going to have people pushing for mask mandates during flu season? How about just generally? here in Boise we have an indoor and outdoor mask mandate for public spaces. Nobody follows the outdoor mandate because it demonstrates a gross misunderstanding of how the virus spreads, but it still kinda makes me queasy to think about a path we could head down. And people think you're being hysterical when you bring this up, but shite can turn hairy real quick.

And lastly, perhaps my biggest gripe, is that we are expected to wear masks for the benefit of other people. I totally get it, because I don't want anyone to get this illness. But to be quite blunt, because I'm tired of holding my tongue about it, I don't actually care if anyone outside of my family and friends gets it and I don't expect anyone other than my family to care if I get it. Again, I don't WANT anyone to get it. But most people will be fine, and that's just hard data. I don't know when the collective consciousness changed that we should be doing everything we can to avoid any type of illness, but I think it's very dangerous. I am not the least bit religious, but why is it such a taboo thought to say that if you get this disease and medicine can't help you, perhaps it was time to go? And that goes for myself as well. If the entire thing is that we are wearing masks to stop the spread of illness that for MOST people in the world, very little happens, I can't jump on board 100%.

TLDR; I like the idea of wearing masks indoors, I don't like the way the mask mandates have been implemented because they show a gross misunderstanding of the data. The idea that nobody should get sick scares me.

Sorry to hear about your employees, but where did I make a joke? I’m just stating from my opinion, based on my experience, this virus is harder to catch than the “experts” are saying.

Then what’s with all the hysteria

I promise you that if Obama was still President, there would be no hysteria. According to the liberal news media everything would be under control with nothing to fear.
