How old are you?

If you’ve been drinking around that much for a long time, you may want to get lab work done to check your liver enzyme levels - AST and ALT. You’d want to know if you are trending toward liver scarring which can lead to cirrhosis. But if you are in your 29s and this has only been going on this year or a couple years, you are probably fine.

Cut out the stuff during the week and try to limit it to weekends. Think about your future, and if you want to have kids. It’s hard to maintain that lifestyle (Physically and mentally) if that’s what you want.

If one is good then 2 is better and so on (at least it was for me).

If you normally or always drink more than you intended to once you start, you could try total abstinence on your own. Or try some control drinking with whatever parameters you feel would be acceptable and see if you could do that.

If unsuccessful I would seek help from others with similar experience.

Try taking just a few drinks with you out each weekend so you know how much you have and can handle. DO NOT take Fireball shots when offered, advice from a friend.

I'm on my fifth Budweiser and 2nd glass of wine at the same time but I just spent 7 hours watching travel ball in 109 (feels like) heat.

I dare a MF'er to say something to me

If I drank a bottle of wine a night that would be a house note

I had a similar problem about three years ago, but only on the weekends. Was causing major marital problems and acted a total arse when we were in public.

Had a come to Jesus moment and decided to stop drinking period. Went a year and a half with no real urges to drink except in the beginning simply bc that was what I did on the weekend. Found some other hobbies to occupy my drinking time.

Started drinking again but I think the time off and the come to Jesus moment reset me. I now have a few drinks every now and then, still only on the weekends, but don’t get all shitty like before. Now I can go either way whether to drink or not, and of course we do once or twice a year have a crazy night but would consider that pretty normal.

If it’s something you can’t control yourself, you need to be in a program with support. I talked to a few in AA about my stuff and they didn’t think it was true alcoholic behavior being able to just cut it off and come back a year or two and drink “normally”. One guy said you don’t have a drinking problem, you just have a problem drinking.

Either your house is shitty or you're drinking wine that's way too fancy...

Quit drinking, I did, I was going to get myself into serious trouble.

Not being hungover for three days is awesome, and I don't wanna hear the "I dont get hungover stories"

Lol pound a fifth of stoli with a 6 pack and pack of Camels and give me a call.

My dad is spending the rest of his life in prison because he killed a woman over $80 because he needed his fix. I have been drunk and high for the last 10 years. I'm on day 62 of a 90 in a facility right now. If you need help do it sooner rather than later. I sure as hell wish I did.

You’re there.

Not judging. I’m one too. Check out a class or two at the O’Brien House if you’re near BR. Or find an AA group to sit in with once or twice.

If you have gotten to the point that your wife is threatening to leave, seek help. And I don't mean the OT. You can try to quit cold turkey, but that doesn't end well for some folks. I spent 11 days in CCU and don't remember leaving my house in an ambulance or the first 4 days in the hospital. Seek help.

I had a similar increase in drinking during quarantine, from 2-3 drinks a week to 2-3 drinks per night, and once or twice I'd hit 6 or 7.

Once gyms opened up I got my act back together but it was scary how fast I got back into that old groove from before I lost weight.

If it's causing issues in your marriage you gotta nip it in the bud.
