Sorry TigerFan.I lost my Dad at 28 when he was 56.

Not a day has gone by that I haven't thought about him.

God Bless and Comfort your Dad and you.

At least you have a warning. I went from talking to my dad on Thursday to getting a call Saturday morning that he was gone. Make the most of your time

I feel for you. Prayers sent. At least you get to say goodbye.

I just lost my younger brother this week and no one got to say goodbye until we saw his body.

I'm so sorry. Been there myself, many years ago.

As others have said, go spend as much time with him as you can. It hurts, I know- but it will mean a lot to both of you in the long run.

You and your family are in our prayers....stay strong.

He's still alive buddy. I don't know you but be grateful for the time u have left with him. I lost my dad recently and my entire universe has changed. Losing a parent doesn't have to be all sadness. Be grateful and keep reminding yourself to be grateful for having such a wonderful father When you feel down. But it takes time. You think your mind is all over the place now? Hang in there bud

Lsuinthenw, I just wanted to take a moment to say I'm sorry for your loss as well. Losing a brother unexpected is a terrible thing. My son was the same way. No goodbye just a call in the middle of the night telling me to come to the hospital because he was gone.

I just wanted to wish you peace, comfort and prayers since the pain is so fresh.

Feel for you man. I'm dealing with a very unexpected loss this week as well. Not a family member, but rather a close friend/confidant/father figure. Very painful because it was so needless and tragic, and I cannot begin to wrap my head around it. But I can't imagine the pain for you guys who have lost a brother or a son.

Thanks to all who have responded to this thread. I know this is a random message board and we don't know each other, but the OP is not the only one who has been helped out by this thread.

Prayers sent NTF. And my next phone call will be to my Dad to make a lunch date early next. Good reminder that we never know how time we will have with loved ones.

I'm sorry to hear that. It is a terrible feeling but unfortunately part of life. I'll keep your family in my thoughts.

Cherish the remaining moments you have with him. Some people aren't lucky enough to share the end of life with the people they love. It may be difficult, but one day you will be glad you got to.

This, except I'll pray for you and your family, not simply think about them. Been there, done it. From what little I know of you on here, you seem a really good dude. I'm sorry to hear this.
