The Doctor who performed the surgery was 33 years old. He looked like a fricking frat boy.

I could hardly change a set of brake pads when I was 33.

Jesus.

But he was a master at his craft, and obviously a genius.

I would allow him to stand on my lawn.

The guy that did my dad's triple bypass was a guy he graduated high school with. It made my dad feel better going in that he knew the guy that was going to be cracking him open.

Father, we come to You today in the celebration of people that You put on this earth to do Your works to heal others, and ultimately glorify You.

Thank You for the difficult surgery for LuckySo-n-So's dad going smoothly, and thank You for the gifted doctor that performed it. We know that You had a hand in it too.

In Your benevolent name we pray. Amen.

I'm amazed how far technology has come with heart surgery - just a decade ago a couple of bypasses meant a couple of weeks in the hospital with constant oversight. Now it seems like they're discharging patients after 3 or 4 days and not a huge scar like they used to have to make.

Man, isn't that crazy? Talk about having steady hands. There is no possible way I could have the ability to do that, to put someone's life in my own hands over a medical procedure.

Human body mechanics, they are.
Glad it went well.

Not short. It's a ton of study and work for 10 or so years after college.
