I don't know if I should be proud that he is a warrior or ashamed of his dietary preferences.

Had the trainer been specifically training these dogs not to fight over turds? This trainer is trying to deflect from personal failure. That's dogshit.
I see what you did there .

My collie went to obedience school years ago. After each session, I rewarded him with a trip to McDonalds where he got either a hamburger or an ice cream cone. I think I got trained more than he did though.

We got a dachshund puppy a while back that is almost 2 now. Had no idea about the breed. Thought they were little old lady dogs. This dog can be a total butthole. Doesn't listen to anyone. Tears everything up. Goes beserk if anyone comes over and will bark at them for half an hour as they sit there on the couch minding their business. Won't move more than a foot away from my wife no matter where she goes. Barks at me if I get close to my wife. And this was supposed to be my daughters dog
I love that little pain in the butt though.

Awe!!! Omg I love him!
I have a mini long hair doxie and she’s the chillest dog ever unless she’s hunting moles in the backyard. Or frogs. Or birds.

I’ve had dachshunds all my life, I am now 83, and while I love those little dogs, they have a mind of their own. They do what they want when they want to do it not at your command.

Sounds like you got an easy out from an ineffective obedience school.

A friend had a Dachshund that he used to trail wounded deer.He was very good at it,people would call him to bring his dog if they couldn’t find a deer they shot.
Only problem was he would bite anyone that tried to touch “his”deer including his owner.
He had a pair of welding gloves he brought with him on a track to get he dog away from the deer.

they have also been kicked to death in the streets of America because they were the symbol of Germany during two World Wars.
All of that history sometimes creates a little sleeve of hate.
I doubt if the 2-5 years this might have happened did much to change the instincts of the breed. First off if they were kicked to death UNLESS they were fricking in the process its impractical the kicked to death dog passed on any knowledge of his or her demise. Second did that fight apply to dash hound kicking anti-german folk or did it apply to all people? If only the former the dam breed is too smart to be allowed to live in polite society....
I knew a dash hound who could not tolerate the idea of snake being left alive on the planet. Perfectly sensible short legged fricker but let it see, hear or sense a snake in the same county and it would lose its damned mind. I think it stemmed from the short legs of the dash hound and the no legs of the snake and the dash hound projecting some self-hate toward its equally leg challenged creature. Damn dog took to a Cuban Boa during the 2012 SEC CG and knocked one of the plastic storage buildings they sell at HD off the concrete blocks and tore down about 30 feet of vinyl fence fighting with the snake, When we managed to get to them the snake had that bastard wrapped up and that dog was holding onto its head with its teeth with a death grip....we likened to have never got that dog unwrapped from that snake and all 4 us looked like we had survived a terrorist attack with the blood and dirt on us. The snake ovbiously took the worst of it but it took 2 grown men, a 10 pound dash hound and 2 pocket knives to subdue that snake enough to get that dog unwrapped. Had it not been for the alcohol I ain't sure we'd have accomplished it....

I can see the villainy in his eyes. Growing up my family always had Dachshunds. Lovable, but unruly creatures. One of them even ate a hairdryer once shortly after killing a rabbit in the yard. That was a big day for Betty.

Dogs do strange shite.
Picked my dog up from day boarding. Young lady said she needed to talk to me about his behavior.
"He keeps lifting his leg on other dogs"
Me: "........come again"
Her: "he keeps lifting his leg on other dogs, i think its a dominance issue"
Me: "you mean he is peeing on other dogs?"
Her: Yes"
Me: "ok....do you have someone who can work with him?"
Her: "No"
Me: "does he have to stop coming here because of it"
Her: "No"
Me: "ok...well...bop on the nose next time. See you thursday".
i did consider renaming him to R Kelly
