You think they care if the victim is black? They don't do anything about either. When you don't have the police in the numbers that are needed and you have a system that releases them 20 times before keeping them for more than a half hour, then this is what you get. For whatever reason though, Lakeview gets hit harder than any other place it seems with car break-ins.

I live in the Garden District and it's an epidemic around here too.
Mine got hit not long ago, I must've forgotten to lock my door. All my stuff was tossed around from my glove compartment and center console but they took nothing.
I actually had some pretty high priced Best buy gift cards they didn't bother to take. Makes me think they're specifically looking for cash and/or guns.
Most reports from people in the neighborhood say it's young kids prowling the streets.

I actually had something similar happen in Houston. Gift cards and some other stuff of value that they didn’t take. Probably just looking for cash.
To OP, why doesn’t he get a camera with a nice glowing red ring around the lens for the driveway to at least try to deter this?

I had my .40 stolen out of my truck about a year ago.
The truck was locked up, they used a device that unlocked my doors but didn’t disable my alarm. So as soon as they unlocked the door they had 10 seconds to find my gun in the console before the alarm went of.
I caught the whole thing on my security footage.

They are starting to hit Metairie that's close to the parish line.
Personal truck has a Viper alarm with a really brught blinking blue light. They probably won't want to steal the two heavy arse used trailer tires in the back. Work truck has absolutely nothing in it.
Eta: Cops drive through this area all hours of the night, and I'm assuming they'd stop anyone just walking around. I called once on an obviously drunk dude that walked behind a building to take a piss, and four of them rolled up within three minutes
