I’m just saying we should let him or one of his loved ones doing the talking. If he gets 20 calls from a Lousiana area code nearly simultaneously, what do you think he’s going to do? He’s going to run even more and leave the area if he wants to hide. And he’ll leave the phone behind as well and be more careful when getting his next cell phone. He could be in Idaho tomorrow if we bombard him with calls.

Torrance isn’t a bad area. Stout knows this better than all of us but the beach cities are very nice. Sure there is some lower-priced housing, such as the place IT Dawg found, but it isn’t a final stop on its own, in my opinion. Maybe I’m misreading an earlier post.
As for the OP’s brother, his social media posts indicate something more serious than occasional weed and drinking with friends. I can see why he would have a strong incentive to not be completely forthright about everything with his family (although the posts are out in the open on social media).
I wish Sampson the best of luck and hope that this thread continues to give him some helpful leads.

I have a brother that suddenly disappeared for more than five years. We didn't know if he was alive or dead.
Out of the clear blue, he called my dad. He was, of course, in trouble with some people you don't want to be in trouble with. Dad got him out. Fortunately, those people only knew him by his fake name and nothing ever came of it. That was over 30 years ago.
