Without the sexual overtones of “twerking” this never even becomes a story. The internet ran with it because they saw “twerking video” in the headline and it was a blonde girl.

What? No. It was a big story because he chastised her with Bible scriptures in his office

Jason St. Pierre is the one responsible for all the fantastic programs that WHS offers that trains students that may not be college material, in different fields so that they can become certified before graduating, and are able to get a job making good money without having to go to college, as soon as they graduate.

Every big high school in Louisiana has those programs now.
I know for a FACT Mandeville and Dutchtown have phenomenal votech/trade programs for students after 10th grade as I had kids go through freshman orientation at both high schools. They ended up graduating from Dutchtown.

No principal is responsible for those programs at any one school. It's a statewide program/effort.

may try the same given the student walkouts over this clusterfrick.

Haha the 30 kids who walked out? Some even thought they were walking out for St Pierre.
The issue shouldn’t have been about twerking but about the fact that the girl and her mother host parties where underage drinking is allowed and encouraged. The previous year they hosted the party and students were drinking then driving home. I do not think being removed from a student leadership position is wrong in this situation. Or a principal withdrawing a recommendation letter.
Some people in here are acting like the girl got expelled or suspended.

Did he somehow allow the academic coach with the rival daughter to talk him into this? Or, and maybe most concerning, was he just so comfortable treating kids like this without backlash over the years that he never envisioned a scenario where this would come back to bite him?

I think it’s both. The mom had to get loud because some principals have been untouchable for years. Bonnie Cox was brought up before. If she didn’t like you, it didn’t matter if you were a great teacher, support administration, parent, student, custodian….she would make your life miserable. She blacklisted some teachers so they couldn’t transfer elsewhere in the parish. She banned parents from campus if they challenged her in the slightest. When North Corbin opened she was there helping with carpool the first morning and there was a frantic conversation on Facebook about why she was there and what her affiliation was with the school because parents didn’t want her anywhere near their kids. She did some great things at Walker Elementary too but it doesn’t excuse her behavior or the school board/her husband running cover for her for years.

What is the Bus Driver's side?

This guy lecturing her about dancing is like Jimmy Swaggart lecturing about fidelity.

Serious question, in what world is it Ok for a school staff member to regulate what a parent and child do on their private time? Did any school staff member tell the Principal not to cheat on his first wife with a bus driver or to let his son walk when he used Daddy's master keys to let 4 others into the HS to vandalize and then only discipline the other boys NOT his son- cuz that does involve the school.

The guy is a cheating hypocrite with ZERO moral value over a 17 year old.

It isn’t regulating. It’s saying you aren’t going to represent the school as a student leader if you are going to drink, smoke weed, do drugs, whatever. Yes he does have the moral obligation to not uphold students participating in that type of behavior.

Never heard of him cheating on his wife. His ex wife was rumored to cheat on him though. Never heard anything about his son and class prank so can’t comment on that.
I bet you get all your info from the mad mom on FB.

It's 100 true and I suppose if your daughter was being lectured by him for 2 hours in a closed door room would be fine with you? Oh and this was after he kicked the school Guidance Counselor out of the meeting. How many red herrings to you need to hear to admit he was wrong? Maybe (I do not know) he did a lot of great things for the school-that does not forgive this.

Regulating is when you’re representing the school at school functions on or off school property, or while wearing clothing items with identifying school name or logo.
Anything on private time is to be regulated by parents or the law. Period.
