quote:that's a good comeback but in reality most of the transmission problems (and there are many) related to Ford vehicles were not designed by Ford. They outsourced to cheap companies who used cheap garbage parts to save money and pass the savings to themselves.
Have Ford design it.

Read an article about this, and I think the complaint even mentions the "rock-solid Tremec and Borg-Warner transmissions Ford used in previous Mustangs." But you can go online and find complaints about all those transmissions, and even talk of lawsuits.
I can't speak about the Getrag unit, but the T-5 and T-3650 were balky when cold but extremely good in a drag race once warmed up and when shifted well.

I have a 2014 with a manual. After 105k miles, I've only needed oil changes and tires.
Best car I've ever owned.

I don’t know why everyone here is hating on Fords. I’ve owned an explorer, F-150, and an Edge and all lasted over 150,000 miles with no issues.

Seriously, how do you screw up a manual transmission?
No shite. I mean you have issues with individual vehicles from time to time. Vehicles will have flaws I don't recall ever hearing of a manufacturer having problems with a standard transmission.
