I would suggest the police arrest those individuals, but that is just a good way for those cops to end up in jail.

Honestly, does anyone really care that inner city people are killing inner city people? Probably when it's politically expedient but otherwise, most people don't notice.

Strict gun laws don't work when you can just leave the city, buy a gun, and come right back into the city. I don't think it shows that strict gun laws = more violence though.

Strict gun laws nationwide would have about as much of an effect as strict drug laws.

Well it spills over into areas populated by hard-working, respectable Americans. And there are hard-working, respectable Americans IN those inner-cities as well that have children influenced by this scourge.
I don't care if gang members kill other gang members, but there are a lot of non-gang members that are negatively impacted.

the article specifically stated that many of these murders are over drug turf in poor neighborhoods. If you didnt' have gang A vs B fighting over who can sling on which corner, and adult users could simply go to the store and buy their DOC, you don't think it'd eliminate much of this violence?
I could be wrong but I don't see anyone killing over turf for the right to sell alcohol and cigarettes.
