So saying the murder rate in Nola is dropping is like saying that the Antarctic is getting warm after it has a few days where the temp is only -40 degrees. The fact still stands New Orleans is still a crime riddled, piss scented, shite stain ghetto that the rest of the country views as a pimple on the a-hole of the world.

yet the rest of America still comes to visit.

And at you bringing up statistics. The fact that YOU don't like nola is another reason to love it.

And the murder rate in Nola is 1/2 of what it was in the early 90's that you love so much. I'd say going from 57+ to 42 in 2013 is a pretty good accomplishment. Looks like that number is going to continue to drop

Where do you live again?

So sad. My brother and Mark were at Trinity for 7th and 8th grades together. He was a good guy.

I must have just missed knowing your brother. I was at Trinity for K-6.

We had another classmate who died at about 19-20 from some sort of heart defect.

And another from stomach cancer in his 20's. DW was his initials.

Bye one year. Originally from NOLA and moved back from Atlanta just before my brother went to Trinity. You must have known his buddies, like RP, JW, WL and JD. Small world.

Mid 80's to early 90's were just a fricking gunfight in much of the city. Makes today seem like nothing.

He and his GF left Fat's after we had hungout together with some other guys. They were walking to the car and were jumped and his gf's purse was stolen. He chased after the dude and the perpertator turned and shot him in the chest.

Yes, I knew them and haven't seen any of them in 35 years. I'm drawing a blank though on DW.

I don't remember him, I wonder if he was after my time or something.

Now I'm thinking about people I haven't thought about in 30 years.

I think you missed him and his twin sister, Missy by one year as well. Me too. Crazy shite. Better times now for our city.

You're right NOLA was kinda wild west back then.

Does your brother ever still see any of them? I ran into a couple of the girls at Philip's or TJ Quill's or one of those places in my second or third year at LSU.

Was the girl Mark was with that night named Helen by chance? I think she dated another of my friends at some point.

He shares Saint's season tickets with JD, who also worked for my family's business. I see RP and JW as well.
