Murder rate in chicago

Just watched the latest 60 minutes. They said murders are up because police stops and arrests are down 80%. The stops are down because the ACLU sued the city for racial discrimination and now requires cops to fill out a 2 page report just for stopping someone. Also, the cops say they don't want to be apart of the next viral video.
The African-americans are up in arms saying "the cops aren't doing their jobs"!
If you stop them you are racist. If you don't, you aren't doing your job. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. This is one fricked up world.
I actually love the cops approach. Black lives matter? Ok, we will let you sort it out until you are begging us to come save you

yeah cops are handcuffed, they go off on 'em.."Police brutally." Can't blame them for not showing up just to get their arse kicked. It's best just let them kill each other.

Weren't the police in Chicago known for being very corrupt? Like there were a lot of severe interrogation and evidence violations? Also, hadn't Chicago been one of the most dangerous cities in America before any of this stuff started happening?
I'm no expert on this stuff, and I certainly haven't looked much into it outside of a few newspaper articles. But just saying. Maybe the police haven't been doing their job for a long time.

Never could understand why the majority of black witnesses always lie about what they see; or they simply say nothing, unless of course it involves a cop, especially a white one. The liberal Democraps have done so much damage to American society today.

I'm just reporting the news. Im not speculating. They said police stops went down 80% simultaneously when the murder rate hit record levels. Some in the african-american community of chicago are blaming the police for the surge in violence. While at the same time saying the police are racist for stopping them. Do you see the irony?

The Chicago Police are pretty corrupt and had a notorious operation where they would detain people unconstitutionally in a "secret facility."

Haven't the murder rates in Chicago been trending up for years and hitting new highs continuously for years? When you compare two trending variables they will always be correlated even if there is no causal link, as a rule of statistics. If Chicago is always hitting new murder rate records then all kinds of stuff is "simultaneously" occurring with them. This could easily be a case of correlation does not equal causation.
