Only 20 more! I have 173 in the pool.

We’ve got to be close to 160 at this point. The count was 157 as of 12/06, plus 2 more today.

BR makes the top 12 in murder rates!!!!

What a POS town, and it used to be a great place!

Born and raised, and will leave in a NY second for the right opportunity!

160 is the current number. The River Rd double homicide appears to have been a targeted hit. It’s a tragedy a small child was killed over what? Some stupid arse drug beef, similar to the Fairway View mass shooting/triple homicide.

Gunfire erupted around Titian Ave in the North Donmoor area last night from a source. Checked the news and apparently no one was killed to surpass the 160 mark.

Yeah that's sad that a little kid was just caught in the crossfire. I guarantee you that the people in that car know who did it too.

If anyone in BRPD wants to collect serious “data” then they can find out how many of these shootings are retaliations.

It's probably a lot. I think I saw there were 4 people in the vehicle. The surviving 2 will probably be on the hunt for the shooters and there will be another murder next weekend that we'll hear about but never connect the dots.

I’d wager BRPD has cleared a high number of homicides through perusing and analyzing a homicide victims social media. When homicide victims advertise holding bands of cash on Instagram, low IQ murderers have no idea how they can be traced

I’m sure by the weekend’s end the homicide tally will be ratcheted up a few more notches.

It's just crazy BR has 160 murders. These have to be organized groups even if they aren't some large, national gangs.

Maybe loose neighborhoods gangs but I don’t see any multi level organization as the likely suspects. I’d bet these are just random gang bangers taking out each other and those that hang with them. They’re violent criminals committing violent crimes. Robbing and killing is all they know.

Especially when the city proper population is less than 230k. Murders are up in a lot places but take Austin for example which hit a homicide record this year. I believe they have 84 homicides for the year but a little over 1 million people city proper population. Over 4 times the size of BR.

The staggering thing for the BR homicide number for years now has been the per capita breakdown when you factor in population.

I think BR is #2 behind only Baltimore in murders per capita. At least it was when I read that about halfway through the year.

Because they’re not smart enough to organize on a bigger level. And every one of them would prefer 100% of $10 instead of 10% of $1000.

BR definitely has a gang problem, but they’re all local ones and are mostly made up of juveniles and people in their late teens/early 20s. Tons of these homicides are related.
