That's an asinine litmus test for gauging someone's concern. I couldn't name a single person that dies in the WTC on 9/11, but that doesn't mean I don't have concern for their loss of life and the impact that loss had on all of their families.

Pick your poison. The only completely safe solution for kids in school is to not have kids in school.
Ask yourself this: would you really give a shite about hearing a story of an armed teacher commiting a friendly fire? Or perhaps an armed teacher being jumped and the perp using the gun to go shoot one kid he doesn't like?
Or perhaps you can submit a logical reason why it would be worse overall to arm teachers?
