Sorry but that’s not accurate. You can see the two green lights in the straight lines near the middle of the frame. You can also see two red lights near the far left edge of the frame which are the turn lane arrows. This is an extremely unfortunate incident where both made terrible mistakes.

Well sadly because her breaking the law got both of them killed. If she doesn’t run a red light she’s still alive and so is the motorcycle rider for the time being.
If he was going the speed limit they probably are still alive as well?

That’s a terrible video. Seeing a body like that.

I mean if he wasn't going triple the speed limit he never would have been there in the intersection at that time to begin with
If she would have gotten in her car 5 minutes sooner or later the accident wouldn't have happened with the motorcycle either.
See how IFS work?
She failed to stop at a red light and failed to yield and turned herself into a charbroiled T-bone with Mr. Linton.

Yeah I could have gone without seeing that flaming body fly over the car. Just horrific.

But sadly if she’s doesn’t run the red light they are both still alive today. See how that works. But unfortunately two lives are lost bc two people broke the law driving.

Well Louisiana cares how IFS work as we are a Comparative Negligence State. And if I recall this chapter from the ole 1997 LSU B-Law class with Michael Simon his example scenario for the lecture was eerily very similar to what happened. I recall he used Highland Road and the driver turned left on to LSU Avenue in front of a car going north on Highland at 80 mph in a 35.
So yea, she was 'at fault' but when their families take this to court, the speed of the motorcyclist will absolutely matter to a jury.

She had a red light and ran it. SHE FAILED TO YIELD TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. Are the traffic signals identical in both the recent accident and Michael Simon's made up scenario?
Who did LSUPD find at fault in the present case?

I don't think there's a blinking arrow at that intersection but I could be wrong. I have parked by the golf course once and gone to Campus Federal once in the past 2 years.

The car had red lights. That intersection does not have blinking yellow arrows.

You ole MFer you. I'm not arguing fault. I'm telling you that who's at fault don't mean shite when it comes to the civil court/personal injury lawsuits.
Take your ole crotchety axe and grind it elsewhere.

Exactly what i thought based on previous posts in the thread...thank you for confirming...BTW, this is a still from the video, you can see the solid red lights on the left side of the frame...

You keep bringing up comparative negligence which assigns as a % of fault to all parties involved.
And by the way, I have never heard a woman get called a MFer.
Do you kiss your mama with that potty mouth?

Not sure why you are so defensive of the kid.
Ten months ago his mom rear ended a Bronco on I-10 doing 100 and turned herself into road kill.
Now the son does the same. What a fricking shite head. Hope they had to scrape him up with a shop vac.
Trashy family gonna trash. I'd bet $100 the dipshit brother is dead within a year too.

Not defending the motorcyclist. Stating that regardless of the speed he was driving it, the girl ran a fricking red light and crossed his path resulting in a T-bone.
Google running red lights vs. speeding accidents. Statistically, blowing traffic lights cause more fatalities/injuries/accidents.
45 years ago 2 of my sisters were hit by a lady that ran a red light and they were lucky to survive. We could hear the police and ambulance sirens from 9 or 10 blocks away

When light turn green the left arrow stays red for a few moments to allow traffic to start moving straight. then it starts flashing to allow the option to turn at “drivers discretion”
At night she would have had very little time to see him at his speed

Those look yellow to me, not red. Indicating she could still turn.

I use this intersection twice a day during the work week. There no blinking yellow left turn arrows. There are two left turn lanes where the car was coming from, their lights are to the far left of the lights for folks going straight. It is a wide intersection.
The video shows she appeared to hesitate before turning. Unfortunately, we will never know why she did not just wait for the green arrow.

The direction the motorcycle is coming from clearly has greens. She wouldn’t have yellow arrows if he had greens.

Flashing yellow arrows mean you can turn left when it’s safe, yielding to oncoming traffic. Oncoming traffic would have a green light. Not saying that is what’s going on here, but as a general rule.
