So why stop there?

Lets name Mt Rushmore back to Six Grandfathers.

The Indians refuse to call it Mt Rushmore.

There is zero chance this mountain would have been renamed by Obama if it were called Mt. Tubman or Mt. Douglas. Zero.

You ALWAYS play the race card. We get it, you do not like black people. Okay fine.

people in Ohio have a problem with it, like they have every time this comes up again, name some flat field in your own shitty state after McKinley.

Lived up there 3 years, we always called it Denali.

They Mad..

Ohio delgation Blasts name change

The Obama administration's decision to rename North America's tallest peak to its original native name of Denali is drawing protests from Republican lawmakers in Ohio.

That's because the mountain's previous namesake, President William McKinley, was also a Republican from Ohio.

Well Charles Rushmore climbed it on a trip to the Dakota territory, McKinnley had never stepped foot in Alaska. Had McKinnley been the first American to climb it or discover it, then yeah the name would make more sense.
In actuality it was named as a political stunt and nothing more.

There are 14 mountains named after US Presidents.

They ALL have had prior names by American Indians.

Lets rename them all. Why stop the slope there. Lets rename cities back. But only ones named after republicans.. Right Obama?

IDK, the Crazy horse was pretty disappointing as a kid.

Wasn't aware George Washington climbed or ever visited Mt Washington.. Surely John Adams visited Washington State when he climbed Mount Adams right??

Oh wait.. Adams didn't even know where Washington State was.

What benefit does Ohio gain by having Denali renamed/ remain Mt. McKinley?

Why has Ohio been fighting this for decades?

I think you are being intentionally obtuse. For forty years the delegation of a red state has had the name change blocked by the delegation of a purple state. Forty years the locals have asked for a name change. It was just this past June that it went to court again and this time Obama decided to order the name change.

Obviously you are doing Wikipedia searches to cover you anti-Obama agenda, but step back for a second and realize that it was Republicans who wanted this and mostly Democrats who blocked it up until the Republican take over of Ohio's delegates.

It's even worse as an adult.

That shite is a scam, they hit you up for every dollar they can. At least at Rushmore I had the national park annual pass and only paid for ice cream. It was pretty good ice cream too.

I would bet that there is an obscure indian tribe in each respective area that has been doing just that for years. Just like Mount Rushmore.

went there as a kid on an RV vacation, never felt the need to go back. Hmm, they did a good bit in the 20 years since I've been, now they have a face.

You'd be surprised at how violently wed some ultra-thin-skinned, pussified Americans are at flags and names - no matter the origin.
