MSY released a new map today

Looks like a total of 5 on-property parking options - 2 garages and a lot at the new terminal, an "economy" option a the old terminal, and an employee garage at the old terminal. I'm guessing a free shuttle between the two old ones and the new terminal.
Airport access road to remain open between Airline and Vets to relieve traffic from Williams getting to Veterans.
I'm extremely interested to see how the shuttle works. If they could keep it on airport property (by running it basically on that ring road that goes around the N-S runway) it's entirely possible that taking the airport access road to the economy and taking a shuttle, might be faster than dealing with the Loyola entrance.
Also, the taxi drivers and the Uber/Lyft drivers will be sharing a staging lot. They should put some cameras in that lot and charge people to watch - with all the money they raise they can give it to the state to allow the direct connector workers to be on the job 24/7.

It will never be done in time

I doubt DHS lets them shuttle unchecked passengers inside a secure zone.
However, a clutch move since employee parking is at the old terminal would be to keep one TSA checkpoint live in the D or C where employees and carry-on bag only travelers could clear TSA there and take a cross-tarmac shuttle. But I doubt that will happen.

08 will be in here to tell you all about it and argue with everyone in a minute.

Sometime between "Fall 2019" and forever.
I mean, it was supposed to open 13 months ago...

the staging area will be nice. kinda like austin im guessing?

Looks pretty nice with the access straight from I-10.
I would think this is a big improvement from the old terminal location.

Too bad they don't have a tram/Disney monorail like they have at I think O'Hare connecting old parking garages to new terminal.
I guess if the shuttles are efficient that will do, but an automated railway would have been nice.

That airport is easy to get in and out of. Hope it continues to be

The problem is there is a runway between those two parts of the airport. Could you get a monorail over a runway?

I doubt that would even be remotely considered to be approved over an active runway.

Mitch thought he'd be able to do the ribbon cutting as actual mayor.

He might be president before it's ready! (I kid, I kid)

Maybe
But no doubt IBFreeman will be along to let everyone know that the airport is a waste of money and wasn't needed. Then that whole argument starts again for the 37th time on this board.

Where will FBO facilities be located? What is going to be done with the old terminal?

I was thinking it would run along Airline heading east, then north along airport access road, west along the north end of the airport near Veterans then south to new terminal?
