Involved in the growing?

Did they hold the plants at gunpoint and threaten to shoot them in the pistil unless they grew faster?

I'm not that well versed on growing marijuana or any other plant for that matter. Can someone tell me how a firearm enhances the growth of pot?

Do you stand over it pointing the gun at the plant saying "grow or die you motherfricker!"?

Same in Louisiana.

RS 40:964
SCHEDULE I
C. Hallucinogenic substances.
(19) Marihuana

RS 40:963
A. As to Schedule I:
(1) The drug or other substance has a high potential for abuse.
(2) The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States, and
(3) There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.

Here is where it gets good...

RS 40:1046
PART X-E. THERAPEUTIC USE OF MARIJUANA
§1046. Prescription of marijuana for therapeutic use; rules and regulations; Louisiana Board of Pharmacy and the adoption of rules and regulations relating to the dispensing of prescribed marijuana for therapeutic use; the Department of Agriculture and Forestry and the licensure of a production facility
A. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Part, a physician licensed to practice medicine in this state may prescribe, in any form as permitted by the rules and regulations of the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy except for inhalation, and raw or crude marijuana, tetrahydrocannabinols, or a chemical derivative of tetrahydrocannabinols for therapeutic use by patients clinically diagnosed as suffering from glaucoma, symptoms resulting from the administration of chemotherapy cancer treatment, and spastic quadriplegia in accordance with rules and regulations promulgated by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. The Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners shall submit to the Senate and House committees on health and welfare on an annual basis not less than sixty days prior to the beginning of the regular session of the legislature a report as to any additional diseases or medical conditions that should be added to the list of eligible diseases and conditions for prescription.

No currently accepted medical use but there is a statute on the books allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to patients?

The intent of the law is to subject drug dealers in possession of firearms to harsher penalties, due to the violence associated with the trade.

Police don't really care about the intent of the law; everyone can see that this charge is bullshite.

It's odd how marijuana can simultaneously be a schedule 1 drug with "no accepted medical use", and also be part of a medical marijuana initiative in Louisiana (even if the law on the books in LA has no real teeth).

He had a firearm inside of the house when the bust was made. Doesn't have to be used just be in the area of the arrest.

One thing that gives me pause here are the two silencers and the BPV. But for that, this is an outrage.

What does this even mean? I see no relation on how a fire arm can enhance the growth of a plant.

You can threaten the plants to make them grow faster.

Trust me. I've seen it done.
