Moving to Baton Rouge

I am being transferred to Baton Rouge. Anyone have any info on the best family neighborhoods/ schools. I have an eight year daughter. I have heard Zachary and the Copper Mill areas are very nice. Thanks for the help.

It is a great place but be prepared for the responses here. Let me start with:

You will all die a violent death within hours of entering city limits.

FWIW, look at schools first and then pick a place based off that. Lots of people go private but there are other options.

ETA: Those folks saying to consider your work commute are also correct. Traffic can be brutal.

I would live in NOLA and commute, long drive but worth it.
