I am going to graduate in May. Unfortunately, after speaking to my Apartment supervisor, I have some Lease trouble.

I want to move out by middle of May, but my lease goes to July. Unless someone moves in soon after I leave, I'm stuck paying for the next two months for a place I no longer stay.

As to why I signed up that long, honestly I just renewed the lease as this is my 2nd year and I wasn't sure when I would finish.

They said the sooner I move out, the sooner someone will grab the place. Is this true or just a scam.

PS I live at Place Du Plantier

Edit: Is there a way to advertise my place off. It's one bedroom.

I find most of comments you guys make laughable.

He told you a degree from Southern was worthless?

Why don't you just live there until your lease us up?

It will become a financial burden after May rent.

I need to find a better job anyway, I'm still seeking employment. Now it's becoming more of a need.

I hope someone moves in, but at 815/month I don't know when that will happen

Why lease from PDP on Lee when you go to school at Southern? Do you just love sitting in traffic?

I lived there about 10 years ago. Those loft apartments were terrible

No worries, you'll be fine. Everyone knows the value of a degree from Southern.

Because Palisades is not a very good complex and costs almost as much. I was new to BR when I moved in and by the time I heard of the 'better' places near SU, I was already comfortable.

I don't mind working an odd job to make ends meet. But if someone decided to move in my place it would help.

I don't want to pay for a place I'm no living, but I don't want to be the reason no one can move in.

Am I the only one who never believed he really went to Southern?

I'll move in for a couple of months to help you out. I'll need you to provide beer and food

There is this thing called a sublet, and this website craigslist. Or just leave they probably won't sue you.

OK. Is there a website for trying to gain sublets. Like Backpages but more legitimate

It's worth a shot. But if I just leave, what makes you think they won't sue me.

Do you mean a place you no longer live?

It would cost more for them to sue you than what it would be worth. They'll just take your security deposit and you'll go your separate ways.
