thats why i sent that last link. make sure you know everything that is back there. if its lined that should contain some heat. I wouldn't put on on a fireplace just because its not my preference. seems like a unwarranted risk

I wouldn't personally mount a TV above a fireplace, there's the heat issue coming from the FP (even though it's not used often) and the eyeline for viewing is not good.
If that's the only place to mount it, then I'd go all the way through the brick and out the back (if possible).
