I paid over $400 for a mountain Hardwear Gore Tex jacket and when I wore I recently every seam detached. I sent it in and they said that the 10 years I owned the jacket exceeds the “relative lifetime” of the jacket

It's the same way," life" doesn't mean life in prison terms.

Most of them are working or driving down I 10 and have nothing better to do.

How did you stumble across this board?

Edit: you seem very intense. You need to relax a little.

A quick Google search says that you spend quite a bit of time online.

I am going to spend more money with Columbia now.

I have one of their jackets that I bought at Kohls (which likely means factory reject) and it's held up great.

Bought a columbia wallet at dillards and it fell apart after 2 years.

I bought some of those jackets back in 00 and 01.

It was only (much) later they adopted this warranty policy.

Have you considered making the repairs yourself?

Well then mountain man you should realize “shite happens” and that can cause gear failure. It’s fine and it happens but it’s really not the manufactures fault either. They can be nice and replace it anyway but they don’t have to.
